London Town

For my birthday present Becky and Aunty Jo had bought me a ticket to go to London to see Les Miserable with Becky. This left Dad and Glen in charge of the girls as Mum had her school reunion so Glen decided to take the opportunity to come too so that he could catch up with his friend, Sam. So, instead of catching the train, we all piled into the car and headed south for a day in London. I had made plans to catch up with my friend, Julie, from school, for lunch before the show but, unfortunately, Julie was sick so we called Sam and arranged to meet him instead. After a quick lunch at an Italian café in Covent Garden, Becky and I went off to see the show. It was wonderful and met all my expectations having previously only seen the Canberra Philharmonic Society version.

While we were at the theatre, Glen, Dad, Sam and the girls went on a hop on, hop off tour of London (not that the actually ‘hopped off’ at all apart from changing busses due to break downs and earphones not working). They had a lovely time seeing all the sites.

After the show, Becky caught a train home as she had a party to go to but I joined the others. We had planned to then go on the boat tour that was included in the bus price but the ferries seemed to have stopped running for the day so Glen and I went on the London eye instead. The trip took about half an hour (almost as long as we spent queued up to get our ticket) and gave us a great view of London. It was then time to get into the car again and travel back to Solihull (via a fish and chip shop of course).
