Bath day 2

After a leisurely start to the day, Sue and Martin headed off and we went into town to do a hop on hop off tour. There were two different routes included in the fee, one that took you through the centre of the town showing you the sights such as the baths, abbey, The Crescent, Jane Austen Museum etc. There are lots of beautiful buildings in and around Bath, all built using Bath Stone except a small group of houses that were workers cottages made of red brick.

The second tour took us up in to the hills surrounding the city where you had a lovely view down over Bath. It also showed us the University as well as a lovely big old home belonging to the man who owned the quarry.

After the tours we had a lovely cream tea in the gardens in the centre of town. You pay to go in but once inside there are deckchairs that you can sit on and a café to eat at. There were lots of people lounging around enjoying the beautiful weather.

Glen and I then took the opportunity to have a night out and went to Jamie’s Italian too (as was highly recommended!!) and then went to the cinema and saw ‘Angels and Demons’.
